This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help us create and develop artistic skills that will help shape our future! We are not a wealthy school and have a very large population of students "at risk". Our students want to learn and create through art, but we do not have a large budget and our families can not afford to purchase supplies.
We are a Title One school located in Washington, D.C.
and most of our students receive free lunch. We are largely an immigrant population. Our students and their families want nothing but the best in terms of creating a great future for themselves and there families. Our students love art and want to create and your help is greatly needed and appreciated.
My Project
I am requesting Sketchbooks for our students so that they will have their own "artistic journal" from which they can create from and have ownership of!
The students will learn responsibility of controlling what they create and the responsibility of having their own book in which they are responsible for.
Their sketchbooks will be displayed at a later date at a venue for others to see.
Sketchbooks are so important because it helps provide artistic freedom for the students and provides them a means in which to create when they desire!
It also helps provide them with a portfolio of sorts in which they can see there artistic progression!
