My Students
Can you imagine sitting at a desk, using a computer, at a table built for a giant? My kindergarten students are faced with that situation daily. Our computers are on tables meant for adults.
I teach 5 year-old Kindergarten in rural South Carolina.
My students are bright and inquisitive. We are a Title One school with 93% of Kindergarten students receiving free/reduced lunch. Our school was featured on South Carolina's ETV's "Corridor of Shame." All of our funds for this school year have been frozen.
My Project
This computer table will allow my students to have a child sized computer station to use daily. The students have to sit in adult sized chairs to use the computers and they still have trouble reaching the keyboard. Some of the computer games require 30-40 minutes at a time. My students are tired of sitting awkwardly for long periods of time and need a table and chairs that are just their size!
Your donation will help to provide appropriately sized furniture to help our classroom be student focused.
Very young students work best in an environment that allows them to be comfortable.
