My students need an LCD Projector to see their music on a screen to help them stay organized and focused on music that is being performed.

My Students
In my classroom students are asked to "Bring It". My students are asked to give it all they've got, and exceed expectations! Our inner city school is experience based and we are always putting things in our students hands to work with, when we can afford to.
My students are bright and very outgoing inner city students in grades K-8.
They attend a charter school that encourages parental involvement and asks that each family spend an amount of time in the school to help out. I am often amazed at how grateful they are when they receive a gift or even that our staff is willing to share experience or ideas with them. More specifically, when I have taken students on a field trip, they have thanked me days after. I am very proud of their character!
My Project
My students need an LCD projector for our classroom. All students at our school (k-8) are reading music. Many of our students have a hard time focusing on the page, especially when there are many small symbols written on a page in black an white. The school has invested in a music writing software program so that I can write music for students to play on a variety of instruments. One of the features of the program is that I can color code each note on the music staff. This helps my students identify the notes quicker and which sound they should make on the instruments. In play back mode the software has a marker that follows the notes along the music staff to help the students keep their place as their playing. The "Follow the Bouncing Ball" idea is very helpful to my students especially when some students are having a difficult time with the reading process. By reading and playing music, my students will not only be able to express themselves in words, but sound and song as well!
Your donations will make all the difference in these children's lives.
They want to learn, they want to succeed and I want to give them the best opportunity possible to do that. All too often I am using a shared projector presenting music to our students and it has to be pulled out to be used for another presentation. My students deserve better than that. Their education should not be interrupted because of another presenter in the building.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
