Teaching Typing to Future Advanced Typers

My students need Microsoft Office software for both Mac and PC.

My students are amazing. Really. They are truly talented and driven despite the adversity they face in their everyday lives. I work at a small inner-city school in a high-poverty area. You would not know this inside my classroom. These students come to school everyday with a great attitude and an eagerness to learn. As their teacher, I strive to foster this eagerness and promote a love of learning that will last a lifetime.

I teach fifth grade. I am trying to prepare my students for the next step in their education...middle school. I know that my students will begin typing papers when they take that next step. I know that the next step will involve the use of many different types of technology. I want my students to be prepared. I want to teach them typing skills but I am unable. We do not have word processing software that is compatible with what they will be using in middle and high school.

I would like to have Microsoft Office for MAC in my classroom. As times have changed and technology has advanced, typing is a skill that all individuals should learn. This technology would help me teach students the ever-important skills that they will use for the rest of their lives.

You can make this possible for my AMAZING students. You can give them the gift knowledge, learning a skill that will better prepare them for any career path they may choose. You will make a difference that will last a lifetime.
