My students need a laser printer and flash drive to use with our classroom computer, especially for differentiated assignments.

I teach second graders in a struggling urban district. My students come from low-income homes. When they come into my classroom I want them to have the quality education they deserve. A key factor in that education is passionate and creative teaching on my part. Another key factor is good technology. Thanks to some awards our school has won for academic achievement, we actually have some state-of-the-art technology in our room. The children and I love using the computers. We are excited about the revival of accelerated math in our district, which creates unique assignments for the students as they progress. The children also love accelerated reading. For this program, the students read a book, then take a quiz on the computer and their results are immediately printed to share with the teacher and parents.
The problem is that only one of our computers with access to these programs has a printer. This printer only prints in black and seems to be on it's last legs. We have two laptops that the children could use for this but they do not have printers. I know how to transfer documents to another computer for printing (via flash drive or e-mail attachments), but these programs are not conducive to such transfer. There are also occasions when we would like to have a color printer for student work and assignments.
We are asking for a laser color printer that can be used with our laptops. It's really important to have a laser printer because some of the accelerated math assignments can be as many as 10 or more pages. That's just one assignment for one child, so we need speed and quantity. It would also be nice for the children to have the option of printing in color at times. It's hard to do a math page that says "How many red and green altogether?" when the children are looking at two sets that are both gray or black. We are also asking for a good flash drive that could be used to transfer data from one computer to another when there are problems with one printer.
With your help we could really get the presses rolling in our classroom. Many of our lessons involve hands-on participation, but there is a time for paper and pencil practice as well. The children like such work. They love standing at the printer when a unique assignment that already has their name on it comes through. They also love seeing things in color. Today, when the old printer jammed it slowed our learning down. It would help to have another printing option when things go wrong.
