My students need books with a musical theme to foster a love of reading and a love of music.
FULLY FUNDED! Teacher L.'s classroom raised $153

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is in a low poverty school in Oklahoma. Much of our population do not speak English. I teach elementary music for grades Kindergarten through fifth. We are Community School which does monthly parent outreach. My classes range from 20 students to 35 students.
My goal with this grant is to use literature to foster an interest in music and a love of reading. Research shows that students that do well in music do well in other areas such as reading and math.
Each of these books is tied in some way to the theme of music. These books will be used in music class throughout the year to further foster a love of reading and the enjoyment of music.
Your help will ensure that our students will be reading for the rest of their lives and gain an interest in music.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
