I teach 6th grade mathematics in a high-needs community in an urban environment. The dry erase boards will help us with our low-performing and students with special needs.
Our students face a number of barriers but the main obstacle is motivation. Something as simple as whiteboards for math eliminates the stigma of not having the basic materials of pencils, paper and books. It allows everyone to participate right away!
When the students are working, having an individual white board that stays in their desks with markers will motivate the students to get them working immediately.
We really could use your help and something as simple and easy as dry erase boards serve to eliminate some of the pitfalls of teaching in an environment where school supplies are hard to come by, thanks for your support.
