Inspire my students to learn! My school is filled with high-need students in grades 7-12 that need tutoring assistance. I am the Learning Center Coordinator, and it is my job to designate a space for in-school tutoring for our kids. Currently, the room set aside to be the center is a very uninspiring space. I want the room to motivate the students... I want them to WANT to be here. If we liven up the room with a carpet and some bean bag chairs, I know it will be a start in motivating our students to be here!
Because of the school's limited budget, most funds go toward necessary needs, which does not leave much leftover money for creating a fun, decorative learning space. When students are first assigned to be tutored, they may be hesitant and pessimistic, but if they come into a room that is bright, inviting, and comfortable... they won't want to leave!
The carpet (our school color, of course) will help divide off a reading/lounge area in the tutoring room, and the bean bag chairs will provide comfortable seating for the students and their tutors.
With your donation, you can ensure that my students will be more willing and excited to use the learning center space to their benefit. Please help us!
