I teach second grade in Charlotte, North Carolina. My students are eager to learn and love grasping new concepts. These students at times have trouble grasping new math concepts, and hands-on materials are invaluable in providing them concrete learning.
Mini clocks would benefit my learners in learning how to tell time. Second graders must learn how to tell time to the 5-minute interval (i.e. 11:05, 11:25, 11:40, 11:55)--these clocks would serve as a hands-on tool to help my learners grasp the concept of time.
I am asking for 30 individual mini-clocks that have the hour and minute hand aligned. Second graders have a hard time learning that as the minute hand moves. . . so does the hour hand. These would be such a wonderful tool in helping my youngsters learn how to tell time to 5-minute intervals. Telling time to 50 and 55 minutes after the hour is very difficult for a 7-8 year old.
Hands-on materials are priceless when it comes to math concepts! Please consider donating these wonderful time-teaching tools. It would mean so much to us!
