I teach college prep and AP students in a small rural school in North Carolina that has been extremely hard hit by the economic downturn.
Our school is sorely lacking in technology which hinders my students ability to compete for college acceptance with others who are more technologically savvy.
In order to complete many upper level projects and incorporate multimedia into their assignments my students need access to these Flip video camcorders to help take their projects to the next level. The first assignment that my students will complete upon receiving these cameras will be recordings of Shakespeare for middle school students. My students will act out, read, and demonstrate proper reading techniques for poetry/dramas so that the middle school students may use these recordings to help them better understand the poetry. Not only will the middle school students receive some extra help, but my own students will be able to develop a greater understanding of Shakespeare and technology at the same time!
With your generous donation my students will have access to technology that normally would have been beyond their financial reach in this rural community. This will also help give them a more competitive edge with their peers upon their arrival at college!
