Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is located in the heart of a large city made up of different economic levels. Our beginning bands are made up of 6th-8th grade students. In order to hold a band class, we need working instruments.
Our beginning bands always have a great attitude about learning how to read music and play a music instrument. Some of our instruments are quite old and require constant repairs which are very costly. This is frustrating for my students and I usually feel helpless when a child cannot participate fully because an instrument is at the shop getting fixed. Some of these instruments are in a condition that is actually beyond repair.
In order to help improve this situation, we basically need to purchase as many new instruments as possible in order to replace the ones that just can not be repaired to a fully functioning condition.
Your contributions will help our students be able to gain self confidence by being able to participate in our band class with a music instrument that actually works. Please help our students be active participants of a proper learning environment they so deserve.
