My young musicians need reeds!
I teach 6th, 7th and 8th grade band in an extremely high need area. These kids love to play music, but it seems like this year, kids are having a real problem just getting the basics. Many students go days without playing because they can't buy reeds. I have provided many of them reeds, but my personal funds are running a little thin. It would be great to be able to provide kids with this basic requirement so that they can continue to play in band.
My students come from a very low income area and the parents are struggling just to get them the basics. The parents, in many cases, have made a sacrifice just getting them an instrument. Now that times have gotten tougher, it's been very hard for some of them to buy reeds for their kids.
