My students need one classroom color printer to display creative and colorful mathematical concepts; one creative thinking bulletin board set to develop higher thinking skills; one classroom clothesline to display student work; one class set of angle rulers as manipulatives to explore angle measurements and geometry, and one tablet PC to incorporate technology with note taking.

I am a second year Math teacher in dire need of manipulatives and visual aides. Currently, I am a looping teacher; therefore, I will instruct the same students for three years, from 6th to 8th grade. Although I am a general education teacher, I have ESE students that are visual learners and read on a 3rd to 4th grade level.
The looping style of teaching has many advantages. However, I am faced with a major problem - I teach at a disadvantage school. With the lack of parental support and continuous budget cuts, I lack the proper resources to teach kinesthetic and visual learners. Because many students have more than one learning style, it is very difficult to motivate the students to learn. Manipulatives and visual aides will allow students to physically grasp the mathematical concept while visual students can see and understand the mathematical concept. With these resources, the students can excel in math; hence, give me a pole and I'll bring you back a fish!
The resources that will foster the learning of the students include: one color printer, one Tablet PC, one class set of angle rulers, one classroom clothesline, and one critical thinking bulletin board. The color printer will allow students to complete a Math Photo Reflective Portfolio. The portfolio will be used to reflect on the math concepts learned via photos. Next, the Tablet PC will be utilized to enhance note taking and problem solving skills. Surely, the school has overheads but they are either limited are very ancient, causing blurriness in notes. Thirdly, the class set of angle rulers will increase geometric thinking with triangles. The students can draw triangles based on dimensions in the form of a word problem. Moreover, the classroom clothesline will be used to display student work. This is a great motivation tool to encourage students to do well on student work. Lastly, the critical thinking bulletin board will be utilized to assist students to think outside the box. Their logic and reasoning skills will improve.
It takes a village to raise a child. This ancient proverb is very true. Please help me prepare the leaders of tomorrow. With your donations, you are helping in raising a student to become a leader and independent thinker.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
