Excite a child with the powerful voice of listening to a spoken character!
Reading words on a page has never been the same since I introduced audiobooks to my students'. They were taken away by the character's powerful voice. My students enjoy read alouds but like everyone, sometimes we need a variety.
A listening center with a cd and cassette player would provide a wonderful, entertaining reading and listening outlet for students.
So please prick up their ears to a listening center. That will keep these bright, enthusiastic, and keen learners engaged to the power of words. Just remember your favorite book and how much better it would have been. If only you could hear the character's frustration or visualize that faraway place only books can take us. Thank you for inspiring tomorrow’s future.
