This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
“When a thing has been said and well said, have no scruple; take it and copy it”
Hello. I am a seventh grade English teacher in New York City. I teach at a Title I school that is in great need of improvements.
As an English teacher, it is very important for me to make copies of worksheets, short stories, and other materials for my students to use. We do not always have enough copies of books for students and making copies is the only way around them having to share books.
Making copies at my school is a VERY difficult task. First, you must find your immediate supervisor (a challenge in itself) and get approval for whatever copies you need to make. Then, you must submit your copy request to the front office. The ladies in our office are amazing, but they can not keep up with the amount of copies all of the teachers in the building need. Finally, you must wait. And wait. And wait until the copies are ready. Sometimes this means that you are getting copies long after the lesson you needed them for. The only other solution is going to Staples, but with 90 students all needing copies of multiple page packets, this is pricey.
Please help me help my students. Having a copy machine in my home would greatly improve my lessons and help my students.
