My project needs 5 triple beam balances to share between the sixth, seventh, and eighth grade science classes.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. R.'s classroom raised $802
This project is fully funded
Our school currently has approximately 300 students ranging from 5-8th grade who come to school from 7:15 am - 5 pm each day in order to close the achievement gap and enter competitive college preparatory high schools. I teach sixth grade Earth Science.
Over the past several years, we have worked to markedly improve our science curriculum to make it challenging and engaging. However, as our school has grown, our need for higher level technology and science equipment has also become more apparent. Currently, we only have one triple beam balance to share between all of the grade levels which makes performing lab experiments extremely difficult.
In order for our students to have hands-on learning lab experiences in the science classroom, we need a class set (5) triple beam balances. This would allow us to complete labs as a class and give each student a chance to engage in higher order thinking.
If we receive these triple beam balances, the students would be able to gain real-life experience and be prepared to enter high school on par with students from more well-funded schools.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
