FULLY FUNDED! Ms. G.'s classroom raised $337
This project is fully funded
The Met, unlike the typical high school, seeks to expand learning beyond the boundaries of the traditional classroom. With this goal in mind, students take part in numerous real world opportunities including internships, travel and college courses. My role is to support students in identifying real world opportunities capable of enhancing their learning experience.
My goal for this year is to offer a class focusing on public policy and community action. The coursework will examine student's academic plan/internship through the lens of global challenges such as poverty and health disparities. Through this class, I aspire to create a stronger connection between our students and the larger community in which they exist. They will begin to understand their role as global citizens and the importance of ensuring that every human being attains a decent life in conditions of freedom and justice.
Community action should contribute to supporting public action and encouraging positive social change, including transformations that help improve our sustainable livelihood in an ever-changing world.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
