Joy-Ann Reid is a New York Times best-selling author, political commentator and analyst with 30-plus years in the media business. For five years, she was the host of the two-time NAACP Award-winning and Emmy nominated nightly news analysis program, The ReidOut on MSNBC. Prior to that she hosted the weekend program A.M. Joy (2016–2020) which became MSNBC’s highest ever rated weekend program, and a daily news show The Reid Report (2014–2015).

Reid has written four books including two New York Times best sellers: Medgar and Myrlie, a New York Times number one bestseller and The Man Who Sold America, which spent four weeks on the list; as well as Fracture: Barack Obama, The Clintons and the Racial Divide and We Are The Change We Seek: The Speeches of Barack Obama (with Washington Post columnist E.J. Dionne), and the foreword to Kamala Harris: The Official White House Photos. A 1991 Harvard graduate, Reid is the mother of four, and she and her husband run a documentary film production company, Image Lab Media Group.

Tulaine is an entrepreneur, educator, writer, organizer, and currently serves as CEO of New Profit, a philanthropic organization that supports high-impact social entrepreneurs creating solutions to systemic challenges in America by leveraging their proximity to the genius, assets, and vision of the communities they serve.

She was a key architect of New Profit's proximity strategy, a $100M effort launched in 2018 to invest in social entrepreneurs who are meaningfully guided by the communities they serve and are often overlooked by philanthropy. She also led initiatives at New Profit focused on strengthening pathways to opportunity for underserved youth, driving resources and support to entrepreneurs impacted by the American legal system, and building a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization and philanthropic sector.

Tulaine serves as the Board Chair of GirlTrek, the largest health nonprofit dedicated to Black women and girls in the United States, and is the host and executive producer of Say More with Tulaine Montgomery, a podcast that brings together influential leaders from different identities, generations, and sectors for radically candid, action-oriented, and joyful conversations around how we can design and build a thriving society.

Yvette Nicole Brown is an Emmy-nominated actress, writer, producer and host best known for her roles on the television shows Community, The Mayor, Drake and Josh, The Odd Couple, Big Shot, and Act Your Age, and films including Dreamgirls, Tropic Thunder, Avengers: Endgame, and Disney's Disenchanted. In the voiceover world, she can be heard in Disney/Pixar’s Inside Out 2, and well as animated shows as varied as Pupstruction, Frog and Toad, My Dad The Bounty Hunter, FireBuds, and the newly announced Among Us. She is also a 2020 NAACP Image Award Nominated writer for Always A Bridesmaid, the romantic comedy she penned and Executive Produced that is streaming on Netflix and BET+.

Charles M. Blow is an author, journalist, cultural critic, and political commentator. Mr. Blow was a longtime OpEd columnist at The New York Times, and he has been named Harvard University’s inaugural Langston Hughes Fellow. He is also a political analyst on MSNBC, has been the anchor of PRIME with Charles Blow on the Black News Channel, a commentator, and a repeating guest on FOX. Mr. Blow is the author of New York Times bestselling books Fire Shut Up in My Bones and The Devil You Know. Fire… has been developed into an opera and will premiere at the Metropolitan Opera later this year — the first opera by a Black composer in the history of that institution. The Devil… has been developed into a feature-length documentary that will air on HBO. In 2016, Mr. Blow was a Presidential Visiting Professor at Yale where he taught a seminar on media and politics, tracking the presidential race in real time.

Mr. Blow left The Times in 2006 to serve as the art director of National Geographic Magazine. Before coming to The Times, Mr. Blow worked at The Detroit News. Mr. Blow graduated Magna Cum Laude from Grambling State University in Louisiana, where he received a bachelor of arts in mass communications, and he holds honorary doctorates from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston and the Metropolitan College of New York. He lives in Atlanta and has three adult children.

She’s the Executive Director of the Raphael Family Foundation and the President of Power for Good Foundation, where she designs initiatives that put philanthropy in the hands Power Home Remodeling employees. Through giving circles, voting, and nominations, every employee has "voice and choice" in directing 100% of the company’s contributions to local communities. Previously, as Leader of ESG & Global Social Responsibility at McKinsey & Company, she relaunched McKinsey.org, a philanthropic initiative that helps nonprofits strengthen their organizational talent to amplify impact.

Anu has also held roles with The Rippel Foundation, where she currently serves as a Board Trustee, and in social responsibility at Johnson & Johnson. A physician by training, Anu lives with her family in New Jersey, where you will find her raising teenagers, attempting mindfulness, and playing with her puppy.

In addition to holding a degree in Business Administration, Allison also has a master’s degree in early childhood and elementary education, and worked in public schools on Long Island before working at Optimum.

Jeanine Fahnestock is senior vice president of PNC Bank and deputy executive director for PNC Grow Up Great, The PNC Financial Services Group’s $500 million, multi-year, bilingual initiative that began in 2004 to support quality early childhood education. In this role, she manages the four main components of the program: advocacy, grants, awareness, and volunteerism. Fahnestock joined PNC in 2001 as an analyst in the Finance organization. She became part of PNC’s Community Affairs department in 2008 focusing on the PNC Foundation, PNC Grow Up Great, and PNC Charitable Trusts.

In 2010, she was named to a position as part of PNC’s signature philanthropic cause and assumed her current role in 2015. Fahnestock holds a bachelor of science degree from The Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh.

Jimmy Yoon Gul Hahn is the Senior Manger of Social Impact at Riot Games, leading Riot’s player-facing social impact initiatives. He has been at Riot for over nine years and works to harness the passion and excitement of gamers and esports fans around the world to support nonprofits making an impact in education, economic opportunity, disaster relief, and humanitarian aid. Through numerous in-game fundraisers and charity events, Jimmy has helped the Riot Games Social Impact Fund, the company’s primary nonprofit engine, raise over $50 million for more than 450 nonprofits across 28 countries.

In addition to managing Riot’s fundraising efforts, Jimmy also oversees Riot’s nonprofit partnerships focused on digital equity and K–12 education that aim to provide and expand access to STEAM and SEL resources for the next generation of game designers and developers. He received his masters in social entrepreneurship from the University of Southern California and a bachelor of science from UCLA. Jimmy grew up in the Bay Area and is a proud alumnus of the Mt. Diablo Unified School District.

Daniel Reyes has led Emerson Collective’s education philanthropy since 2021. Under Daniel’s leadership, Emerson’s grantmaking invests in entrepreneurial leaders and innovative models building solutions so that all students find meaningful pathways to economic opportunity after high school. Prior to joining Emerson Collective, he was a senior managing director at Teach For America, where his team helped lead the organization’s growth strategy and fund development. Throughout his career, he has worked with social entrepreneurs in the education space, including leading ed tech investment for the nation’s first student-led impact investing fund at the University of Michigan. He also served in a senior leadership role at RaiseMe, a college affordability startup that was named one of the World’s Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company.

Daniel has been an Education Pioneers Graduate Fellow and was recognized with the Stanford Associates Board of Governors Award of Merit for his alumni leadership and contributions. Daniel holds a bachelor of arts in economics from Stanford University and an MBA from the University of Michigan.

Does Partner Summit have a dress code?

Most Partner Summit attendees prefer to dress in business casual or business professional attire. On Day One, we’ll be touring a school supported by DonorsChoose, so please keep comfort in mind.

I can’t attend all three events. Can I attend just a portion of Partner Summit?

You can RSVP individually for our school visit, small team dinners, and conference. We recommend that all guests joining the conference on Day Two attend all sessions to experience the full breadth of the DonorsChoose mission.
