I teach Developmental Preschool at a Title I school in Albuquerque, New Mexico. My students come from diverse socioeconomic, linguistic, and cultural backgrounds. They have various exceptionalities: autism, developmental delay, and speech & language delay. Our activities center around play and allowing communication skills to grow in a natural setting with appropriate adult supports and guidance. We work with occupational therapists, physical therapists, and speech and language therapists to help students gain skills in areas of fine motor, large motor, and communication.
