In chemistry, having a laboratory component to your lessons is essential to help students understand and apply what is learned in class. Often, a single lab experiment can take many hours to complete, unfortunately, we only have 49 minutes to set up, experiment, and clean up. To increase the amount of hands on experiences each student has, I use lab stations, where the materials and instructions are placed at each lab bench for easy set up and clean up. Students have everything they need and can start experimenting immediately. The plastic supply trays will be used to keep the materials at each station organized, the bins are multicolored so that each station can be color coded for easy clean up. The plastic picture stands will be used to hold the objective and instructions for each lab station so that students have a quick reference of what they will accomplish with each experiment. and finally the rulers are so that students can draw their data tables and graph the results of their experiments. Requiring the students to use rulers enforces the importance of neatness in science data collection and analysis.
