Help Our Kindergarteners Find Their Balance! 🚲 At Rapid City Area Schools, we believe that the foundation for a healthy, active life starts on the playground. Help Our Kindergarteners Find Their Balance! 🚲 At Rapid City Area Schools, we believe that the foundation for a healthy, active life starts on the playground. This year, we have a bold goal: to ensure every single kindergartener learns how to ride a bike. To make this happen, we are raising funds to purchase a fleet of Strider Balance Bikes for our Physical Education program. ________________________________________ Why Strider Bikes? Learning to ride a traditional pedal bike can be intimidating and often involves a lot of "scary" falls. Strider bikes change the game by: • Focusing on Balance First: By removing pedals, kids learn the hardest part of riding—staying upright—using their own feet for security. • Building Confidence: Students move at their own pace, transitioning from walking to gliding in just a few sessions. • Inclusivity: These bikes are lightweight and adjustable, making them accessible for children of all coordination levels and abilities. The Impact of Your Donation Our goal is to raise $72,000 to purchase 8 student bike sets and storage carts. By donating, you are providing: 1. Physical Literacy: Improving gross motor skills and spatial awareness. 2. Independence: That "I did it!" moment when a child first lifts their feet and glides is a massive boost to their self-esteem. 3. Sustainable Habits: We’re not just teaching a skill; we’re encouraging a lifelong love for outdoor exercise and green transportation. ________________________________________ How You Can Help Every dollar brings us one pedal—or glide—closer to our goal. Riding a bike is a rite of passage. We want to make sure no student at Rapid City Area Schools misses out on that joy simply because they don't have access to the right equipment. Thank you for supporting our smallest riders as they take their first big steps toward independence! hide
