Of the different varied causes I support, I never really considered literacy. It seems like such a fundamental thing to me, and it's extremely basic and essential to my life - I can't even calculate the amount of time I spend reading in a day, because I don't even think about it. I just do it. What if we couldn't read? I honestly can't even imagine what that would be like, but I think that without this fundamental skill, it would be very difficult to be a useful member of society at all. Do you remember learning to read? Your kindergarten or first grade class probably had a nice, colorful reading area with all sorts of neat books for you to peruse. Think other people should get the same opportunity? Yes? I encourage you to think about how incredibly lucky your life has been, and all the things you've had. I ask you to show appreciation for it by helping others get the same things. You helped me raise $770 in a week for Relay for Life (cancer research). Now I'm asking you to help me with this. hide
