This is a targeted donation page for teachers in high poverty areas who are want to purchase popular books that their students will want to read. I'm focusing on the kind of books we all like: sci-fi, fantasy, vampires, comics, etc. I've also included some science projects and supplies for learners who can't easily read print books. I first heard about Donors Choose because a teacher used it to buy their students a set of Octavia Butler books. After being advertised to WisCon members, the project was quickly funded. That same class has since been able to obtain another set of Butler's books through Donors Choose. Without our donations, these kids may never read these books. If you can't donate, please consider publicizing this instead. hide
