My name is Christa Hill. I teach 6th grade at a very small school in northeast Alabama. I am the only 6th grade teacher at our school. I have a self-contained classroom of 34 students. Our school has been here for over 70 years--we still have the original hardwood floors that were here when our school was built. We are very fortunate to have a school with such a rich history. My name is Christa Hill. I teach 6th grade at a very small school in northeast Alabama. I am the only 6th grade teacher at our school. I have a self-contained classroom of 34 students. Our school has been here for over 70 years--we still have the original hardwood floors that were here when our school was built. We are very fortunate to have a school with such a rich history. Many of my students come from low income households, most with only one parent working. Some of my students are living with grandparents or other guardians. We also have a very large Hispanic population at our school. My parents are more than happy to donate supplies to my classroom but, due to struggling households and economy they are unable to do much. Because I teach in an elementary school setting, often times aid is more focused on the lower grades. We are always appreciative of aid to our classroom. We are in need of math resources and reading center activities. Our new reading program requires center activities, however, with such a large classroom it is difficult to provide stimulating centers. Thank you so much for your help. hide
