Adapted Buddy PE Equipment

My Project

I teach a self-contained special education class for students with moderate to severe disabilities.

Historically PE is a time where my students struggle to safely integrate with their non-disabled peers.

With this in mind, my partner teacher and I have set out to create a buddy PE program where our students will be paired with their non-disabled peers and participate in activities that are designed with their specific needs in mind. We've attended a professional development to help us get started and now we need to equip our students with the materials they need for these adapted games and activities.

We're asking for hoops, blocks, scarves, bean bags, balls, and more to help make this dream a reality. This equipment will allow our scholars with special needs to safely work on balance, movement, and coordination while interacting with their peers in the general education setting.
