This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These reading materials will help my ESL students learn to read. More and more of my students are coming from countries where they are illiterate in their own language and need extra help learning to read. My students often have not had a consistent education and have many gaps in their learning. These books and Scholastic subscriptions will also give those students who are further along in their learning of English a chance to start reading a short story or novel for comprehension. Our curriculum is limited and this will help me give my students more practice in the skills they need.
