Marvelous Math Manipulatives And Materials A Must

My students need a variety of engaging math manipulatives, such as an Early Math Partner Games Library and a set of 10 Writing Practice Magic Boards, and other materials to explore through centers, small, and large group instruction.

My Students

Math in kindergarten is extremely important. Students need a variety of hands on materials to experience math in an engaging way. Using materials in centers, independently, and through small and large group instruction will allow students to have meaningful experiences in math.

My kindergarten class is very culturally and economically diverse.

The school is a Title I school in Tennessee. A large portion of the school is on free or reduced cost lunch. My students are very eager to learn. They enjoy using hands on materials in our classroom every day.

My Project

Kindergarten math concepts can be grasped somewhat easily by most students. Not all learning experiences in kindergarten should be teacher guided. Child guided learning experiences are vital to development and future learning. This type of learning can be accomplished in learning centers and small group lessons. Some of the materials we need will be used as center materials. In math centers students engage in social learning experiences, and understand mathematics concepts through play, exploration, and creative activities. Equipping my young kindergarten students with these engaging math materials such as the money center, Zoob Jr., pattern block activity cards, and math partner games will give them the beginning tools to use as the develop and explore various math concepts. It is extremely important for students to be actively involved in learning simple math concepts through using hands on materials.

I feel it is extremely important to give my young students a variety of materials to explore math in many ways.

Centers and group instruction using these new materials will provide students with new resources to learn math in a social and engaging way. Please help us keep learning and thriving.
