Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As you may know, learning a language is no easy task...but my students accept the challenges of learning a language with open arms, strong motivation, and hard work. These amazing, motivated learners work diligently each day to improve their listening, reading, writing and speaking skills.

The majority of my students come from Spanish speaking homes.

Our small school helps to provide strong support and a nurturing environment with enriching experiences. At times, my students have difficulty completing their homework and nightly reading at due to language issues.

My Project

The nonfiction Read-Along CDs will help my students with their reading comprehension. Students will be able to take the CDs and books home on a nightly basis to help improve their fluency, comprehension, and gain background knowledge. As we build our audio library, students will build their literacy skills! The vocabulary tubs will help us while we are in class. English Language Learners benefit from the use of realia, and tactile experiences. The vocabulary tubs will help bring objects and vocabulary to life through endless activities! Along with the vocabulary tubs, the Word Wands will be a powerful tool to use in the classroom to learn grammar and sentence structures! Hear Myself Sound Phones are powerful tools for students to hear themselves speak, read, or edit a story. Using the phones will help students become familiar with the English language and hear themselves become fluent readers!

These amazing tools will serve as an endless resource for my incredible students.

With the contribution of more resources, my students will gain further language skills and continue on their scholarly journey!
