The best thing about our school is the students. Located in an agricultural community, our student body is comprised of down to earth, friendly students from a variety of cultural backgrounds. Being small, the students tend to all know one another and work together to make the culture of our school unique and wonderful.
For such a small community, the talent and creativity within our high school are awe-inspiring Students are encouraged to think outside the box and they constantly amaze me with their ideas.
To be able to provide better supplies and equipment to such an imaginative group will only further their development.
My Project
Students interested in furthering their studies in art need to be able to access decent supplies. Supplies such the Kimberly class pack drawing pencils would allow students to see different types of drawing pencils they otherwise would not. Lyra Polycolor Oil Pencils would offer them a much nicer quality of colored pencil than they have currently. We are in desperate need of a new sharpener. The X-Acto sharpener would meet our needs perfectly. Tag Board is used for mixed media projects as well paper arts. Pacon produces a nice quality tag board that the art students have never seen. While every school wants the best for their students, often it is the fine arts departments that feel the pinch of budgets. Kids in small rural schools should have the same opportunities afforded students in larger districts. By funding my classroom, I will be able to bring a higher quality material into my class.
Students who are looking into graphic design, animation, illustration, or art education need to have basic knowledge of what is available to them.
Through Donors Choose, I will be able to introduce my classes to materials they otherwise might never get a chance to see. This opportunity could help decide what career path they choose as they work toward graduation and their future.
