My Students

I have the privilege of working with every child in our school. We have about 450 students, ranging from age 4 to 12, all coming from very diverse and unique backgrounds. We are a Title I School. Eighty percent (80%) of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch.

At our school, we strive hard to meet both the educational and emotional needs of the child, as well as the physical needs.

My focus as a physical education teacher is to encourage a healthy lifestyle by making physical activities exciting and fun!

My Project

Our school is in desperate need of some new and updated playground equipment. Every student in our school gets 30 minutes of recess per day where they have the opportunity to head outside, get some fresh air and exercise their bodies.

Many of our children do not have a safe place at home to play outside so they look forward to "play" time at school.

Recess is the best part of the day for many of our students. However, we do not have enough playground equipment to accommodate the number of students we have AND some of the playground equipment we have is old and outdated.

Please help us improve our playground and give our students a safe, fun place to just be kids!
