My students need chips, fruit snacks and water for daily snacks. The wipes are to freshen hands with, and the broom and mat are to keep our room clean. The treats are for our treasure box.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. N.'s classroom raised $533

My Students
My students come from low socio-economic homes and are selected for the Pre K program based on needs for improving their chance for success in school. We are a Title 1 school and every student receives free breakfast and lunch. All of our little learners are excited and enthusiastic about learning and love to come to class.
Our students depend on us to nurture their minds, bodies and spirits.
We do this of course, by teaching them things that will make them successful as learners, but also help them grow and thrive as healthy individuals.
My Project
The chips, fruit snacks and water will ensure that each one of our students has a snack every day. Many of them do not bring a snack from home every day and some of our families can't afford to provide daily snacks so we usually use our own money to buy items for everyone to have something to eat.
Having a clean and healthy environment in which to learn is a must for our four year olds!
Everyone depends on us to maintain a clean and healthy classroom, so the wipes will be used for hands and faces after our snacks and meals, the broom and dustpan will help keep our room clean and the mat will be used at our back door when we come in from playing outside. Our students learn that they are also responsible for helping us keep our learning environment clean and it is rewarding to hear their conversations with their parents about how they help out at school.
We always encourage everyone to do the best they can and our students are so young that they like to have some kind of tangible reward at the end of the day. The candy, balloons, pencils and treasure box items will be used for this purpose.
We also need a new memory card to take photos of our students during the day. It is important to be able to show the parents and caregivers what their little learners are doing during the day, so we create slide shows for parent meetings and we also give out photo books at the end of the year so that each student can have a record of their experiences with us.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
