My Students
Our inclusion classroom dynamics are full of diverse learners! Each and every child is amazing in what they bring to the table. Some students attend every day, while others only attend 2-3 days a week depending on their educational needs. We strive on peer role models for students on an IEP that need an extra push to create new experiences and build social skills, communication, and the rules/routines of a daily classroom.
Our peer role models are learning daily the regular PreK skills, such as letter/number awareness, letter sounds, math, science, etc.
They are also learning to be peer helpers, teachers of their current skills, and giving human beings. I need hands-on experiences that will reach learners on every level.....providing students with topics to question/connect to, as well as those whom need hands-on, visual /sensory experience.
My Project
Students are fascinated by all our area's life that hatch out of eggs. We live in an area of many different egg laying animals (Gulf Coast). Our diverse classroom of both typical and special needs students require tactile and visual hands-on experiences to further their learning. We will use these materials to hatch duck eggs and explore the amazing steps nature gives us. We need an incubation and embryology system to be successful.
Through this exploration, students will learn about ducks, how they grow in their eggs, what happens throughout the process, and enjoying a hands-on experience of the hatch, the growth, and actual ducks quacking/swimming their way in our classroom.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
