My boys cross country team is a group of about 50 9-12 graders who like/love to run. Some are there to just get in shape and some are there because cross country is their sport. Everyone makes there team; there are no cuts. The varsity is very dedicated - practicing on Fridays and meeting on the weekends. The JV team practices hard together Mon-Thursdays and are pretty competitive.
Last year every single on of them improved their time.
At the end of the season we celebrate their success with a party, motivating words, and certificates of participation and excellence.
My Project
By having the same uniform we look like a real competitive team.
Our team has grown in the last several years.
We now have 50 boys running! For the past four years we have added a dozen uniforms each season , but they never match with the year previous. When you look good, you run better!
I am looking forward to having the boys all match and look good when they run. Our girls team is quite a bit smaller and they have matching uniforms. It makes a big difference and the boys ask each season why they don't have nice uniforms.
