My students need headphones to be able to listen to good models of reading as they are just learning how to read. They also need headphones to be able to listen to the computer programs that are building their reading skills.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Unlock the door to reading for an entire class of second graders. I am a second grade teacher in a culturally diverse, economically challenged Title I elementary.

I have been equipped with fabulous computer programs to help support my teaching, but I do not have working headphones that would allow my students to use the programs to their fullest potential. I also need a listening center to have students listening to books independently, while I work one-on-one or in small groups to help build essential skills for each student.

To be able to give my students the keys to success I need 5 headphones for the computers and one listening center for small group time.

By helping out my classroom you will be changing the lives of 25 second graders. The knowledge to read will give them the power to change their lives for the better.
