Hi there! We're an elementary school located in rural South Carolina, and have over 360 low-income students who will learn their creative abilities over the course of their short tenure here. I teach K-5th Art, which includes Special Needs children.

During art class, students are often working on top of each other in the course of making projects and trying to complete their assignments. Materials, supplies and artwork often overlap, causing student work to be spoiled and inviting the occasional dispute from an accident. We've tried putting long tables together to make larger ones, but pens and pencils fall through the cracks, or someone has to sit where the seam is, or they'll have to work around the ugly repair bolts holding the surface to the legs. These tables are easily pushed out of alignment into walking spaces due to their length.

Our school budget for the Art Room is limited to only basic annual supplies, so new tables will not be addressed. Square, four foot tables will give up to four students the necessary room to spread out, without negatively impacting their neighbor's work. The 'elbow room' issue will be resolved, and the focus on production enhanced.

Your help will ensure that students are comfortable and have enough room to focus their attention on their own work, which will contribute to their success as young artists.
