Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a fifth grade science educator in Texas. We are an economically challenged campus as are most schools in our community. Our campus is a very positive environment for most of our students. It brings some form of "normal" to the lives of our students. It is a very caring community, where its greatest resource is time. Time that is given by teachers, parents, volunteers and community members.

Rebound is aimed at helping students fine success in other areas of their lives, in this case basketball, in hopes that very same success will transfer back to classroom feel students who do not always excel in the classroom often times excel in some other form. Many times students are not given the opportunity to participate in other activities due to financial obstacles. We hope with your help we can allow students to be risk takers and try new things.

Our community is rich in volunteer hours. Many people are willing to work with our students in an array of different activities. The only problem however is the lack of equipment and training. We are in need of basketballs for the students and instructional videos for the volunteer coaches.

By making a contribution today you are not only putting a basketball in a child's hand, you are also placing that child's future in their hands as well.
