I work with gifted students in grades 2-4 in a small school system just outside of Washington, DC.

Sadly, the budget for our gifted program is very small. It's only November and the money is already drained... This made me doubly sad when an idea for a "Think Tank" came from my students. They thought it would be great to have a place to go during the day to play logic and strategy games. I agreed it was a great idea and wanted to encourage it, but without money this became a little more difficult!

I pulled together some paper/pencil materials and bookmarked some great websites that introduce the kids to logic and strategy games, but there is little that is quite as exciting as having some hands-on opportunities to play, take risks, and create solutions. I'm hoping to build a library of games that the kids can play in my office (known forever more as the "Think Tank"!) or that they can check out and take to their classrooms or homes.
