We are requesting tables for our classroom. Fifth graders grow fast and daily it seems. Unfortunately, many are not able to fit comfortably in the standard elementary school desks. Those desks may work for a percentage of my class but a large majority of them are crammed in their desks. The other fifth grade classrooms have tables and I have seen the importance of this detail in the classroom. Worst part, during earthquake drills we realized that the small desk size does not allow my students to properly shield themselves under the desk from potential harm. Safety and comfort are key for students to be able to achieve success academically. I would love to be able to provide these tables to my students because I know the impact it would make.
