Every day I am privileged to work with hundreds of Elementary school students in our school auditorium and Junior High students in the music room. We sing, dance, share our talents via piano and acting; as well as perform in various shows. These are the many ways we also enjoy weekly music time together. Our school is made up of a diverse group of K-8 students. I direct a Glee Club as well as produce monthly musicals which are performed for parents and students. Last year I started an After School Modern Band thanks to Little Kids Rock/Amp Up NYC who started us off with some awesome free instruments. This year the focus is on implementing a more engaging and student centered curriculum at the Junior High level. I-Pads in the classroom will help us continue to broaden our musical horizons and give us the opportunity to advance in the areas of music technology and composition where students can express themselves.
