English Language Learners enter the classroom with different levels of English language proficiency. It can sometimes be difficult to meet the needs of all learners. In order to provide a more personalized learning experience, I am requesting 4 Apple iPad tablets for student use.
Students will use the tablets to engage in teacher created language modules designed to target each individual's specific area of need. This will allow more time for one-on-one teacher intervention as well. Additionally, students will use the iPads to utilize Lexia Reading CORE 5, a reading program that provides differentiated literacy instruction to students of all abilities. Students will also use these technology resources to focus on the language domains of speaking, listening, reading, and writing by reading ebooks, creating videos, listening to audiobooks, and so on. The possibilities are endless!
The donations to this project will help my students improve their English language proficiency. The technology resources that I currently have are minimal and outdated. The introduction of these new resources will enhance the learning experience of my English Language Learners and allow me to design instruction suitable to all of their needs.
