Throughout the school year, I introduce my students to multiple artists and art-based books. Their inquisitive minds are always interested in learning more! My students connect to artists and stories backgrounds and experiences and these connections shine through their artwork. Connecting Literacy to the art room gives my students the opportunity to take their learning to another level. ​I wanted to offer a library of art books that would allow my kids to learn more about the artists we are studying and to further explore the stories some of our art projects are based on. My students would be able to reference these books while working on projects or to learn more to either gain inspiration before beginning or upon project completion.
