Can you image to put your pet dog in a bird cage? That's what I feel for my fifth grade students. As you know fifth graders are much bigger and taller than K-4 students. Unfortunately, they have the same size of classroom as the other grade levels. What's the worse? Fifth grade's class size is one third larger than the other grades. In our school, there are 24 students in one class for k-3 grades but for fourth and fifth grades, there are 33 students in one class. What does this mean? It means upper grade students have less room to move around and less space for them to do activities in their classroom. By replacing our current bulky and oversized chairs with flexible stools will give my students more room and help them focus more! The donations to this project will help to increase my students' learning space and reduce the distraction from each other! My students will have more room to move around during the activity time and become less distracted by others accidentally. They will be able to engage more in their learning and do better academically!
