My students need an iPad to add more flexibility and creativity to how they express their knowledge. I am ready to enrich the engagement created with our 1:1 Chromebooks with the artistic features available only with the use of a tablet.
An iPad in the classroom would enhance the ability of my students to express their learning in visually interesting and creative ways. There are numerous apps available on the iPad that are not available as a comparable app/extension online for use with the Chromebook. The iPad apps will change the way my students are able to express their knowledge. The students will be able to self-differentiate, selecting their favorite way to show what they know and then share this knowledge with classmates via Seesaw. Some apps we will use with our iPad are listed below.
PicCollage is an app will be used to express vocabulary definitions through pictures and captions. This can be used in all subject areas.
DoInk is another useful app that uses green screen. Students will create fun videos presenting information that include related images in the background.
With Animoto and iMovie, students can create book trailers. The app provides a fun format for expressing character, setting, the book summary and opinions.
ComicLife is an amazing comic strip app. This will be utilized during creative writing opportunities or while expressing how to solve a math problem. It will also be a way to share historical or scientific knowledge.
In addition to these and other apps, students will use the front facing camera to take photos of their work or scan QR codes. With our Apple TV, students can share work with the entire class. The possibilities are limitless. A class iPad will change the face of the expression of the knowledge in our classroom!
