We will use Chromebooks for blended learning across all subject areas. My students will conduct research as Little Mathematicians, Scientists, Engineers, and Writers. Chromebooks will allow us to access digital learning programs such as Freckles, RAZ-kids, and screen-casting to reinforce Language Arts and Math concepts. We have reading rotations twice a week where students will log on to these adaptive learning programs to practice their fluency and reading comprehension. We will also investigate science phenomenon and gather evidence to support their claims and understanding of the world they live in. We will use Google Classroom to experience writing as real Writers do--going through the entire writing process. The publishing stage will feel more official when students type their edited drafts on Google Docs. We will also use the Chromebooks to build digital literacy and digital citizenship in order to be prepared for older grades and beyond.
