The Sphero is a waterproof and durable programmable robot. Many students I have barely have a cell phone, and even fewer have full access to technology at home. These Spheros will begin teaching high school students how to think logically and solve problems, later to be moved to the middle school and eventually elemetary students. This part of the country has a huge need for computer science, with limited offerings compared to the urban areas of the state. Spheros can be dressed up to tell stories in history, english, and easily applied to math courses. These robots will open many doors for students in a fun and effective way for years to come. As a Title I school, many of our students receive free or reduced-price lunches, help us prevent them from being on reduced technology access as well.
