Using high quality materials is essential for my students to showcase all that they have learned. Painting on paper is fine for practice, but there is something to painting on a canvas or a foamboard that adds some magic to the art making experience. I want my students to take pride in their art and using quality materials is one way to help set a standard of excellence. Many of my students have never had the opportunity to work with these kinds of painting materials and deserve to receive the best art education possible. Your contribution will help enhance their educational experience in my class. Making art on real canvas or foamboard will help instill a sense of pride and importance in the art making process. Introducing these materials at a young age can help foster a lifelong appreciation for art. If students never get to practice on real artist materials, they may miss out on some of processes that make art unique.
