These inner city students are fighting to read more but do not have the resources at home or school to read the books required to compete in a city-wide competition. Our school is made up of 83% of its students being from low income and 21% of students are English Language Learners. Over the last few years we have seen huge growth in the love of reading at our school, and their scores have shown it. Part of the reason our students have been successful is through Battle of the Books, which strives to keep kids actively reading and engaging in novels. Please help us to keep this love of reading alive!
