I am a Montessori public school teacher at a Title 1(more than half of the students receive free or reduced lunch) urban school. I currently teach a multi-age class with 1st/2nd/3rd grades. I have sixteen students from various backgrounds and abilities. Eight of my students are Hispanic with English as their second language and two others are from very impoverished areas of my town. I teach my students in small groups based on ability while the other students are working independently.
