As a S.T.E.M. (science, technology, engineering, and math) school, we focus on incorporating those skills into everything we do. This can be tricky in a Language Arts classroom. This is even more difficult when technology is scarce, as it is for us. I'm very excited to have been able to introduce my students to Google Classroom and the Google platform this year. In addition, I have found several other great programs that I feel will stimulate and help my students grow, and not just with reading and writing but with real world skills, too! We just completed our first writing assignment published with a Google Doc. Most of my students had never worked with online publishing before, and it was truly inspiring to see them embrace the technology. I was extremely fortunate to have another project funded on DonorsChoose.org some years ago. It allowed me to have 14 Chromebooks in my classroom. Having 11 more Chromebooks would allow all students to have technology every day rather than having to limit their time each day so they can all have some time.
