With these ant farms, my students will gain an understanding of different biosystems and how the world works. They love animals and I have always had an interest in ants and how they form colonies so believe this will be helpful to them. Each class will have their own farm to maintain and monitor. They will keep track of food intake, tunnels created, manage sand refills, and clear out the dying ants. They will learn to care for living things and appreciate the little things in life. I believe this project will help them understand the world but also make them feel as if they are contributing to my classroom environment.
